Welcome to My Personal Page
Dear friends and family,
In December 2017, my GBM was diagnosed and resected. In 2018 I learned about the NBTS Race for Hope Philly 5K. Can I do this? Not only did I walk the 5K but did it along with my team of over 50 friends and family. Together we raised over $20,000. In 2019, we walked again and raised over $30,000. The Race for Hope Philly had a banner year in 2019 raising over $1 million for the first time ever. In 2020, due to the pandemic, the city of Philadelphia would not grant us a permit to gather. We pivoted to a virtual platform. My amazing team raised over $20,000 that year. Even during the pandemic the Race for Hope Philly managed to raise over $600,000.
These funds support brain tumor research for adults and children. Pediatric brain tumors are the greatest cause of death in children and there are still no successful treatments available for them today. For adults there are only 5 drugs and one device but still NO CURE!
In 2021, Team Bald Bubby raised over $20,000.
On October 8, 2022, we will walk/run in person again at the Navy Yard. Please consider joining our team and joining us that day. Or just making a donation. Whatever you can do will be so appreciated!
To quote Rabbi Hillel, one of our great Jewish sages, "If I am not for myself, who will be for me? If I am not for others, what am I? And if not now, when?"
And to quote Rabbi Tarfon in Pirke Avot (Ethics of our Fathers), "It is not your responsibility to finish the work of perfecting the world, but you are not free to desist from it either."
Let's all work to make this a more perfect world.Thank you all in advance for all of your support!
National Brain Tumor Society will not rest until a cure exists - but more needs to be done. Please join in my effort!
Thank you,
Lynn
