On November 20, 2016, Robert had a grand mal seizure which led to the discover of a brain tumor. After having a craniotomy on January 30, 2017, a biopsy was performed which revealed that he has an AA3 (Anaplastic Astrocytoma Grade 3). He had 6 weeks of radiation/chemo and completed 6 rounds of chemo which ended October, 2017. He had his latest MRI in January 2021, and everything is A-OK!!! Next MRI is in July.

In August of 2020, Robert became a member of the Iron Workers Union Local 118. And he has passed all 5 of his welding certs.
