Christina's Super Squad

Christina was diagnosed with a grade 3 anaplatic astrocytoma in 2016. At 30 year of age I wanted to do whatever it takes. Radiation and chemotherapy in 2016. Starting 2017 I started monthly Temodar for 12 cycles. Cycle 8-12 were tough to keep food down. Friends made barbecue on the chemo days to ease my discomfort and being in the company of friends.

I graduated with my doctorate in clinical psychology (PsyD) to accrue post-doctorate hours and study for the exams required to become a licensed Clinical Psychologist.

I hated when the tumor returned and required surgery. This time in 2019, a Grade 4 GBM —brutal. I continued with post-doc seeing clients and studying for the exam every psychologist.

Another treatment, Optune, was added to prevent brain tumor growth. November 2019 I developed radiation necrosis. These events changed me. Physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy. Therapy was essential toward the healing process.

NBTS will never stop to find a cure. Please join in the fight!
