Early Friday October 28th,2022 Mike had a seizure in his sleep. Mike was taken to St.Mary’s hospital by med flight to get tests done to see what had caused the seizure. Test results came back and showed Mike had a Right Frontal Lobe Brain Tumor. On November 4th,2022 Mike underwent his first brain surgery, on November 6th,2022 Mike underwent a second brain surgery to remove more of the tumor. A few weeks later the results from the tumor came and was diagnosed with a low grade Oligodendrolima Tumor. December 30th,2022 started week 1 of radiation. On February 10th,2022 Mike got to ring the bell signifying the completion of radiation treatment. The bell not only signified Mikes completion of his radiation journey but also holds a special place in firefighters life’s. The bell summoned members to the fire house, signaled the beginning of a shift, notified departments of a call for help and indicated a call was completed and the unite had returned to the firehouse. “3-3-5”, signifying the end of the emergency and that the company has returned home to quarters. After radiation, Mike continued to the next stage of treatment, Chemo. Mike has completed all the steps in chemo and continues to put on a fight and show cancer who's boss.
